Who we are We are Christian missionaries serving in Syzran,
Russia.
July, 2005 news update
Thank You Jesus
Our first service went great at our new Church. We had 5 people come
forward to receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Following the
service we all walked down to the river where I baptized 11 recent
converts. After the baptism we went back to the church and had a
fellowship dinner. It was-exciting to see God move in our first service
in our new church.
New Chairs
In the last newsletter I talked of our need to buy chairs for the new
church. Praise the Lord that by the time of our third service we had all
new seating. Thanks to all of you who had a part in that. The chairs are
comfortable and look good. God moved in an awesome way in providing
seating for his house.
Faithful Servant
I want to tell you about Luba, who has been working with us for over 5
years. She is so faithful that I know if I pick up the phone, call her,
and say 'I need you', she would be wherever I told her to be at whatever
time. I have had the opportunity to see God move thru her and it has
been great. She is not only my interpreter but she also runs our Center
of Life Pregnancy Center at which she has worked, without any pay since
we started. Luba has such a servant's heart. It has been my distinct
pleasure to have been able to have worked with her. I have seen Luba's
life during the good times and thru times of testing. She has always
remained faithful to God. Luba is an awesome example of God working thru
a life committed to Him.
A Gift for Luba
Luba has no idea I have written about her in this newsletter. She would
be humbled by all the kind words I have spoken of her because that is
the type of person she is. I have decided with the help of God to do
something very special for this servant of God. I would like to buy her
a little car. The car is called an Akah; it has just two pistons and is
very cheap to operate. Luba has so many responsibilities in the Center
and church that it would be a huge blessing for her to have a car to get
around. I have already told her that I am sending her to driving school
so she will have her driving license. The car will also be a blessing
for her family as one of her girls is involved in sports and goes to the
sports school every morning. I am already actively looking for a
good used Akah for her and then I will have the mechanics in our church
put the car in first class condition. From what I know of car prices, a
used Akah will cost about $1200, half the price of a new one. I want to
show Luba that the sacrifices she has made for God do not go unnoticed.
If you would like to help, just put a note in with your gift and it will
be used to purchase and remodel a good car for Luba.
Visitors to Russia
My US agent, Roger Crane, and his wife Glenda will be coming to visit us
in late August/early September. Although the Crane's are paying their
own way, part of this trip is to ensure my accountability to my home
church, The Cross Community Church in Richmond, IN, where Roger serves
on the Board of Directors. We look forward to meeting with them and
showing them the work God is doing here in Syzran.
Because Jesus is Lord of our Lives, we remain yours in missions in
Syzarn, Russia.
