Matthew 10:29 (NIV): Are not two
sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall
to the ground apart from the will of your Father.
Luke 12:6: (NIV) Are not five
sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is
forgotten by God.
As you can see from these passages, in the world's
commerce of the day, sparrows were of such little value that
when four were purchased, the seller would throw in the 5th
for free, as if it had no value at all.
All around us are "5th Sparrows". People that,
within the world's currency, are of no value at all.
But Christ does not forget them. He values them so
much that He died for them. He values them so much
that He sent all believers to seek them out. So, how
are your sparrows doing? |
